On Eritrea\u2019s Independence Day: Acknowledgment and Critique<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The OLF acknowledges Eritrea\u2019s 34th Independence Day and the sacrifices of its people. However, true freedom remains incomplete while Eritreans endure human rights abuses and extreme poverty\u2014issues murmured by generations awaiting justice.<\/p>\n<p>President Isaias Afwerki\u2019s speech, framed through\u00a0<em>ERI TV<\/em>, raised alarming misrepresentations:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>He portrayed Africa\u2019s instability as rooted in foreign dependency, yet ignored his regime\u2019s role in regional crises.<\/li>\n<li>He falsely linked Ethiopia\u2019s conflicts over the Nile and Red Sea to\u00a0<strong>\u201cOromummaa,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0a deliberate distortion of Oromo identity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is not ignorance\u2014it is a\u00a0<strong>strategic conspiracy<\/strong>\u00a0to scapegoat the Oromo people for broader geopolitical failures.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. The Dangerous Misrepresentation of Oromummaa<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Oromummaa is not a political agenda.<\/strong>\u00a0It is the cultural, historical, and social identity of the Oromo people\u2014a symbol of self-determination and unity. Yet, Eritrean leaders and Amhara elites (heirs of the\u00a0<em>Minilik regime<\/em>) are:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Weaponizing Oromummaa<\/strong>\u00a0as a \u201csecurity threat\u201d to justify repression.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Promoting divisive ideologies<\/strong>\u00a0(<em>Ethiopiawinet, Eritreawinet, Tegaruwinet, Amharanet<\/em>) to erase Oromo identity.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Aligning with Ethiopian elites<\/strong>\u00a0(e.g., calling Abiy Ahmed a \u201cprophet\u201d) to suppress Oromo rights.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is a\u00a0<strong>historical betrayal<\/strong>. The Eritrean government, once a ally in liberation, now fuels oppression.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. Historical Betrayal: Eritrea\u2019s Role in Undermining Oromo Liberation<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The OLF fought alongside the EPLF and TPLF against the Derg, envisioning a\u00a0<strong>free, federal Ethiopia<\/strong>. Yet, after victory:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The EPLF conspired with TPLF to sideline the OLF,\u00a0<strong>strangling democracy<\/strong>\u00a0and enabling TPLF\u2019s 27-year dictatorship.<\/li>\n<li>The 1998\u20132000 Eritrea-Ethiopia war, waged for political gain, cost countless lives.<\/li>\n<li>In 2018, Eritrea again sabotaged Oromo aspirations by backing Abiy\u2019s regime,\u00a0<strong>extinguishing hopes for freedom<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Hindering Oromummaa is not just historical revisionism\u2014it is a plot to deny self-determination and perpetuate dictatorship.<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4. Oromummaa: The Path to Unity, Not Division<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Oromo people\u00a0<strong>reject<\/strong>\u00a0the false narrative that their identity threatens the Horn of Africa. In truth:<br \/>\n\u2714\u00a0<strong>Oromummaa is the solution<\/strong>\u2014it fosters ethnic unity, democracy, and lasting peace.<br \/>\n\u2714\u00a0<strong>Propaganda against Oromummaa will fail<\/strong>, as it has throughout history.<br \/>\n\u2714\u00a0<strong>No nation can silence the Oromo struggle<\/strong>\u00a0for equality, sovereignty, and justice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To the Eritrean and Ethiopian regimes:<\/strong>\u00a0Your fearmongering only exposes your weakness. The Oromo people cannot be erased.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To the world:<\/strong>\u00a0Recognize these lies. Stand with truth.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5.
