April 16, 2006(Oromia) - Despite government of Ethiopia effort to cracking Oromo uprising and sabotage the Oromo martyr’s day, the Oromo people across the Oromia and abroad have remembered their fallen heroes in unprecedented way.
The Oromo martyr’s day remembered in different universities by thousands of Oromo students. Students all over Oromia gathered together and raised OLF flag and have discussed the objective of our fallen heroes and heroines. Thousands of Oromo students in south university have remembered their fallen heroes and heroines with great respect, love and vowed to carry on their legacy. They have carried out candle light vigil and silent moment of observance for couple of minutes.
Accordingly, students of department of agriculture have remembered their fallen heroes and heroes in their respective campus from 8.00pm to 1.00am local time. They have observed a moment of silent followed by elders blessing and poems. They showed their love for OLF lighting red, green and red color candles that designate the color of OLF flag. Students in this campus have also carried out different activities pertinent to this remembrances day and concluded with elders’ blessings.
